OCEAN ALLEY Takes First Leg! (Click for Full Report)

Our second year is under our belts and it was another great year.

The best team of the modern era, "Savanna Lynn", took the Challenge once again while Capt. Billy Thomas etched his name into the history books as one of the BEST the sport has ever seen. We also saw an incredibly close Series race as they beat out newcomers "Top Vee" by less than 1.5 pounds! That's over a six-fish, 3-tournaemnt series. What are the odds? Last year we also saw some great examples of Karma and the Fishing Gods flexing their muscle by rewarding gas-toting "Zephyros" with a 105-pound wahoo after they helped a fellow team in distress.

Once again, we begin the Wahoo Season in November at the beautiful Bimini Bay Resort. In January we head over to Grand Bahama and Sunrise Resort and Marina. We return to Bimini in February for the third and Championship Leg. Since teams will "let it all hang out" for the Championship Leg, we decided to make things interesting during the 3rd leg.

Make the rules more even as to eliminate the speed advantage of outboards		We are shortening the running time in the morning PLUS starting the event earlier and ending it earlier too
Keep the locations close so that teams can save a little fuel money and not spend it all just getting to the host location		We kept 2 Bimini Legs plus kept Grand Bahama, although we moved slightly east to the Lucaya area
Getting Fuel in Bimini was difficult		We have secured fuel (gas and diesel) for the Bimini tournaments and we are working with the fuel docks to stay open for the anglers.Sunrise Resort has on-site fuel docks
Combined boundaries in 3rd Leg was too large		We reduced the boundaries
Leg 2 Resort was pricey		We secured a new location Sunrise Resort with more mainstream pricing
Less fish should be weighed and counted so that more teams can compete and be on the leaderboard		We are reducing the daily fish count to 4 and the overall to 4 also. (down from 5)
